Edward Leon Surls, 54, of Mountain View, passed away January 1, 2012, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu. Private services held. He is survived by his son Johnny Kaleo Leon Surls of Oahu; daughters Tammy (Ricky) Ramirez of Hilo, Kuuipo Surls-Kane of Hilo, Edwina Kuuipo Surls of Oahu; brother James Leland Surls of Oahu; sisters Bernadette Fay Surls of Oahu, Brenda Lee Kaetsu of Hilo; 13 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
