Ellabelle Constance Kilolani Kaiama

She was affectionately known as Kilolani, Pakete and simply Tūtū, and was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love and compassion with a beautiful smile for everyone. Ellabelle served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. She was also an adult corrections officer retiring with the rank of captain from Oahu Community Correctional Center in 1991.

Ella is survived by her daughters, Sonia (the late Louis) Tapu of Kapolei, Leinani (the late Samson) McCandless of Kona, Hawaiʻi; Kahulu (Barrett) De Santos of Lahaina; son, Edward (Faith) Kaiama Jr. of Waimānalo; grandsons, Jason (Kehau) Hefner of Kapolei; Chad (Michelle) Hefner of Ashville, North Carolina; Nainoa Kaiama of Waimānalo; Kupukupu Kaiama Henderson of Kailua, Oʻahu; Aliʻiloa (Pume) Kaiama of Jber, AK; Kalani (Jessica) McCandless of Kailua, Oʻahu; Nāhono Kaiama Ayau of Honolulu; granddaughters, Shannon McCandless of Phoenix, AZ; Pōmaikaʻi McCandless of Waimea, Hawaiʻi; Nahuina (Vili ) Hau of ʻAiea; Moana Kaiama of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.She is also survived by great grandsons, Nāhono and Kūlani Hefner, Kamahaʻo McCandless, Makaleʻa Hefner, Tave Kaiama, Ahonui Kaiama Ayau, Luna Hefner, Hāweomauokalani McCandless; great granddaughters, Kilinahe McCandless, Kamaliʻi Hefner, Talaina and Tahina Kaiama, and Mehanaokalā McCandless; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Edward N. Kaiama Sr.; son, Roger Alan Kaleo Kaiama; brother, Sweeney Ah Siu Jr.; sisters, Nellie Ah Siu, Barbara Rego and twin Emily Kaniho.
