

Born on June 24, 1985, in Wailuku, Maui, Kalani was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his mother, Dale Kehaulani (Ka'ahanui) Bissen; brothers Wesley Kahala Bissen, Jr. (Rachel), Joel Maka'aha Bissen, and Jarrett Mino'aka Bissen; nieces Simira Wahine Bissen and Sophia-Marie Bissen; nephews Jarrett Mino'aka Bissen, Jr. and Stance Konapiliahi Bissen along with a village of relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
In eternal rest, Kalani joins his father, Wesley Kahala Bissen, Sr.; grandparents Joy & Donald Bissen, Sr., Stanley & Elizabeth Ka'ahanui; uncle Donald "Butch" Bissen, Jr.; and many loved ones who have gone before him.
Kalani was a happy, caring, and free-spirited soul. A loved and dependable son, a good brother, and favorite uncle. A graduate of Baldwin High School, he enjoyed fishing and the ocean, when he wasn't working at (HFA) Hawaii Food Alliance. He lived an adventurous life, full of aloha, leaving cherished memories of kindness, joy and love.
A celebration of Kalani's life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
at Paia Community Center. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the life and aloha Kalani brought to those who knew him.
