Flora Aina, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Flora was born on September 2, 1942, to Guilhermina Souza Leval and John Gouveia Amaral.
Flora is survived by her husband, Melvin Aina Sr.; daughters, Jo Ann Allencastre, Stephanie Allencastre, and Carleen Kelekoma; her sister, Monice Pacheco; and brothers, Herman and James Amaral.
Flora was preceded in death by her father, John G. Amaral; mother, Guilhermina S. Leval; sister, Grace Philips; and brothers, Theodore, Damien, and Leslie Amaral.
A funeral service will be held for Flora on September 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ballard Family Mortuary-Kahului, 440 Ala Makani Street, Kahului, Hawaiʻi 96732. Following the service, family and friends are invited to enjoy Portuguese bean soup and refreshments.
Flora will be laid to rest at Makawao Veterans Cemetery, 3361 Baldwin Ave., Makawao, HI 96768.
Serving as pallbearers are members of her loving family and friends.
