

Frederick, Freddy Moana Pu Sr., 67, of Pukalani passed away on June 23, 2026 with his family at his side under the care of hospice Maui. He was born on December 17, 1958 in Wailuku Maui.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Marylane Pu ( deceased). He survived by his loving wife, Jonette Namahana Pu. Survive by his children, Freddie Moana Pu Jr “Momo” (deceased), Tia Nalani Pu (deceased), Raene “Kahale” Pu Kahoalii ( Kalei).
Siblings Albert Pu (deceased) Wendell Pu (Anna), Kenneth Villajuan(deceased) , Gordon Kekahuna (Katherine) Sweetie Pu (deceased), Matthew Jacob’s (deceased) (Glory), Jade Mullaney (Shawn), Norman Pu (deceased).
5 grandchildren Kiralynn,Kden (Kawena),Kendol,Ksyn , Kalae and numerous hanai children , nieces and nephews.
Freddie was a utility driver at Hawaiian Cement. He was a long time volleyball coach that ran his own volleyball club named LIMAHANA Men’s Vball Club. He devoted his time to always helping many kids in the volleyball community from being a volleyball coach to his own son and daughter. He then went off to become the first volleyball official on Maui in the early 90s being certified with the OIA officials in Oahu. In 2025 he got voted official of the year for the boyz season in Oahu. He love to travel to Vegas with his beloved wife, Jonette Pu for volleyball , but his love was his five grandchildren he was the Papa that always would be there for everyone sport football volleyball, soccer, wrestling rugby, track, and field and numerous other sports. His grandchildren was his pride and joy watching them grow up was his highlight of his life.
The family would like to thank Maui Memorial Hospital, Kula Hospital, long-term all the doctors and numerous nurses that was there for Freddy. Big Mahalo goes out to hospice Maui for being the comfort for him during his last days here.
Visitations will be held from 6 to 9 on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Ballard’s family mortuary service will start promptly at 7:30 PM. Visitations will continue on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Ballard family mortuary from 9 to 11 service to start at 11 AM burial to follow at 12:30 at the guardian of Aidenn located in Wailuku. Maui luncheon will follow at above the wave in Kahului, where you can join the family and friends for a refreshments.
