Gavien "Freddie" Bush III

Gavien "Freddie" Fred Bush III, passed away at his home on Monday, December 19, 2011 with his family in his side. He was born April 13, 1937 in Puunene. He was the son of Gavien Fred Bush Jr. and Marguerite Fry Bush. He went to Kaunoa English Standard School, Baldwin High School and Menlo College in Palo Alto, CA. Gavien served in the United States Army. He was an active member at the Maui Country Club for years. He loved to play golf, fish and played music on a weekly basis with the Turpintine Cats. If you knew Freddie, you knew he could talk a good story. He left the island for a few years, but returned because this was his home. If you needed Freddie, you could find him in the morning doing a crossword puzzle or reading the paper on the Lanai. He leaves his loving wife of 37 years Elsie Sase Bush. He also leaves two daughters Lorri Puaahi Sober of PA and Jennifer Hokulani Bush of CA; a step daughter Corrine Beckwith of TN; six grandchildren: Chadd Sober and Corey Sober of PA, Anna Squires of ND, Michael Beckwith and Katie Beckwith of TN, and Wyatt Lee Bush Schroeder of CA; and two great grandchildren Madison and Reese of ND. Services will be at Makawao Cemetery on Dec. 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. Please join us in the celebration of Freddie's life.
