Gayle Myra Salsido passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in Wailuku, Maui, at the age of 72.
She was born on January 23,1954, in Pu'unene, Maui, and raised in Wailuku, where she spent most of her life surrounded by family and lifelong friends. Gayle built her home and raised her family in Wailuku, living first in Paukukalo before settling on Kaho'okele Street, where she spent over 30 years creating a place filled with love, laughter, and memories for those closest to her.
Gayle was the third child and beloved daughter of Daniel Evans Sr. and Helen Evans. She was the last surviving of her family and was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Evans Jr., and sisters Linda Coppa, Roberta Chun, and Beverly Anakalea.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Anthony "Tony" Salsido and their sons, Carlton, Brice, and Colbe. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Bernice Myra ("Boots"), CJ, and Ameleah, and a joyful great-grandmother to Syaj ("Boots 2") who brought her immense happiness.
Gayle dedicated 45 years of service to Hertz, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect of many coworkers through her reliabitlity, strong work ethic, and warm spirit.
Those who knew Gayle will remember her as a strong, independent woman who cared deeply for her family. She carried herself with resilience, generosity, and a quiet creativity, alway placing her 'ohana at the center of her life.
Gayle will be remembered as devoted mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, a beloved aunt, and a loyal friend. Her presence brought comfort and strength to those around her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului

Though she is no longer with us, Gayle's love, strength, and the memories she created will remain with her family always.
