Gerald (Jerry) E. Kasamoto, 83, of Hilo, passed away on January 6, 2023 at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 9, 1939, in Hilo, he worked as a probation officer and later as a social worker aide. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Hilo Higashi Hongwanji. He enjoyed sports, loved dogs and food of all kinds.
He is survived by wife, Coleen Kasamoto of Hilo; daughter, Lisa Kasamoto of New York City; brother, Donald Kasamoto of Berkley, CA; in addition to numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Service on Saturday, February 11, 2023, Visitation: 9 a.m.-10 a.m., Service: 10 a.m., at Ballard Family Mortuary, Hilo. On behalf of the family, facemasks are recommended.
