Grace Kazumi Hamasaki, 99 of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at her residence. She was born on May 20, 1927, to Tsuruo and Hayako Izuo in Honolulu, Oahu.
Grace is predeceased by her husband, Kazuichi ; survived by her children, Mark Hamasaki (Mariza) and Teri Hamasaki; grandchild, Ashley Hamasaki.
Grace was an active, dietician and she provided care for the Maui County hospitals. Her friends and family always remember her as that friendly, caring person visiting them while in the hospital. They often thought that Grace was actually preparing the food.
Grace was an active, dedicated member of the Wailuku Hongwanji Mission.
The family would like to thank Hospice Maui staff, the ladies of the Buddhist Women’s Association, and the Maui Oceanside Adult Care for their loving care and support.
Service will be held on Sunday June 7, 2026, at Wailuku Hongwanji Mission visit with family at 11:00a and service at 12noon. Refreshments will follow at 1:00pm.
