
Hannah Bailey Pang, 96, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on October 26, 2016, at her home, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on January 31, 1920, in Wailuku.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at St. Anthony Catholic Church; mass will begin at 11:00 a.m.; burial will follow, 2:00 p.m., at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery in Wailuku.
Hannah was a retired pineapple trimmer at Maui Land & Pineapple Company. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard H.S. Pang Sr. and son, Richard Pang Jr. (Josephine), and is survived by her daughters: Rose (Adam) Sagon; Hannah (Robert) Idemoto; Elizabeth (David-deceased) Flores; Lillian (Joseph-deceased) Pagan; and Bertha (Richard) Drayson. She cherished her 19 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 22 great-great grandchildren.
Hannah was a descendant of Edward and Caroline Bailey, originally from Holden, Massachusetts, who were teachers at the Wailuku Female Seminary (now Hale Ho’ike’ike at the Bailey House). Her grandparents were James Clark Bailey, 4th son of Edward and Caroline, and Ulunui Kaholokula. She enjoyed helping with garden restorations at the Bailey House too.
She was devoted member of St. Anthony Church, Hannah blessed attendees with the beautiful and intricate Kikania (Cigar flower) lei she created. In addition, she was a member of the church choir, Hui O Akoni Hemolele and the Eucharistic Ministry. Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening, sharing plants, and sewing Kikania lei daily.
