

Herbert S. Kinores Sr., 91, of Makawao passed away at home with his family by his side on August 17, 2024. He was born on November 14, 1932 to the late Domingo Sr., and Merces Kinores. Herbert moved to Lahaina and worked for AMFAC/Pioneer Mill Company for 46 years starting as a Cattle Ranch Hand and working his way up to the Manager of Pioneer Mill Ranch. Herbert then moved on to the Sugar Plantation where he was the Harvesting Superintendent when he retired in 1996. He also retired after serving over 20 years from the Army National Guard. He and his wife Dorothy moved to Makawao after his retirement and together they enjoyed gardening, and working on his Honohono Orchids.
Herbert was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, and siblings Matilda, Antone, Cecelia, and Christine.
Herbert is survived by sons Herbert Jr., Randy (Kim), daughter Roxanne (Rodney), five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, all of whom he enjoyed spending time with. He is also survived by sister Margaret Sylva, brothers Jeremiah and Domingo Jr., along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, September 20th, 2024 at Ballards Mortuary from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM followed by Eulogy and Prayer Service. The family would like to thank the staff at Kaiser Permanente, Maui Memorial Medical Center and Hospice Maui for their compassionate care.
