James "Sonny" Maluikeao Holokai Jr., 79, of Peahi, passed away on June 4, 2011, at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. He was born September 27, 1931 in Wailuku. Mr. Holokai retired from Operating Engineers Local 3 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He is survived by his wife, Mary Holokai; son, Mervin (Priscilla) Holokai; daughters, Marjorie (Rodney) Holokai-Higa, Kerry Ann Holokai, Marcella (Arlen) Holokai-Hall; stepmother, Victoria Holokai; sisters, Mabel "Grace" Bell, Alma Ryan, Charlotte Kanaele, Leinaala Holokai; brothers, Walmer Holokai, Larry Holokai; grandchildren, Sean, Tyrone, and Naomi Holokai.
Services: Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Ballard Family Mortuary, service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Ballard Family Mortuary with service starting at 10:30 a.m., burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Maui Veteran's Cemetery. Family requests casual attire.
