Janet Rene Bacalso, age 65, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born on August 7, 1960, in Manhattan Beach, California, Janet made her home in Lahaina, Maui, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Janet was a vibrant soul who loved to go shopping, spend time by the ocean, and stay active under the island sun. Her greatest joy came from her five beloved grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.
She is preceded in death by her son, Justin Bacalso, and survived by her son Shaun Bacalso (Tasha); grandchildren Ilikea Ladera Bacalso, Kiliona Bacalso, Dallas Bacalso, Keaola’i Bacalso, and Keko’i’ula Bacalso; sister Leslie Skinner; mother Patricia Moreno; and father David Skinner (Robbie).
Janet will be remembered for her loving heart, her lively spirit, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her.
A private service will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
