
Jean A. Reader, 73, was taken by the Lord on May 8, 2011, after a very long illness. She and her husband, Dave, moved to Maui in 2004 from the Boston area where they lived previously thirty two years. Jean taught art and decorative painting to hundreds of students over many years. She was also very active in her church. She organized a "Steven Ministry" program for anyone in need of uplifting support. She and her husband were married 53 years and have 4 children and seven grandsons (two married recently). Their daughter, Deborah and husband Steve have three sons. Deborah was a teacher In Merrimack, NH. Son, David II, is a Master Diver for Ed Robinson Adventures in Kihei. Son Douglas and wife Michelle live in Visalia, CA where he is COO and CFO for "Fruit Patch" in the central valley. Son Dwight and his wife Debbie live in Merrimack, NH where he is a Master Diesel Engine Specialist. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at Kihei Lutheran Church. Services will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, with Pastor Dave Krueger; and Pastor Mark Oien, from the Readers home church in Bedford, MA officiating; burial will follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku.
