

John Leroy Vierra, affectionately known as “Beans,” was born on August 31, 1946, in Paia, Maui, to his parents, John (Beans) and Mary B. Vierra. He passed away peacefully at home with his Family in Pukalani under the care of Hospice Maui.
John was a devoted husband to Marlene Mae Vierra for an impressive 56 years. He was also survived by his sister, Marilyn (John)Freitas, and his four children: Michele Mae Vierra, John L. Vierra III (Kana), Melanie “Homelani” Vierra, and Jayson Melvin Vierra (Misty). Their grandchildren include Jenna-Mae, Melissa, Jonathan Lundquist. Macey, Micah, Miranda Vierra, Tyler Swift. Jonas, Josie, Jarius Vierra-Naleieha, Great grandkids Makenzie Saito, Millayana, Makai Nefus.
John graduated from Old Maui High School in the Class of 1965. From a young age, he nurtured a passion for classic cars, woodworking, and collecting various treasures. He worked for the County of Maui Public Works Makawao and delivered The Maui News for many years with his children. He also had a talent for cooking and was known for his delicious pasteles and sausage and loved spending time talking stories with Family and Friends.
A celebration of life will be held on December 21, 2025, at the Hannibal Tavares Community Center. 10 a.m. till Pau
