Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Ballard Family Mortuary, services at 6 p.m. with cremation to follow.
“Papa Joe” was a fisherman, farmer, builder, cook, and a retired tractor operator from Hawaiian Cane and Sugar Company.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Ilar; sons, Jose S. A. (Vanessa) Ilar, and Jonathan A. Ilar; adopted son, Teodoro B. Ilar; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Nathan A. Ilar.
