

Joseph K. Kamaka, 53, of Wailuku, Maui passed away on October 13, 2024 at Maui Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 16, 1970 in Wailuku Maui. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Sr. and Ana Kamaka and brother Oliver "Honey Boy" Kamaka.His memories will live in the hearts of his Wife: Jennifer A.C. Kamaka Son: Zachary Kamaka, Daughter: Ahja KamakaGrandchildren: Jerrod, Gunnar, Levi, BellaBrother: Travis (Sandi) Sasha, Deana, Jessica Kamaka.Hanai brothers: John Moses and Ben Marquez.He is also survived by numerous Brother and Sister In-laws, Uncles, Aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joseph retired from the United States Marine Corp as a proud Combat Veteran and also enjoyed a fulfilling career giving back to his community serving as a Police Officer in the Maui Police Department. Seizing the opportunity to provide advancement for his family he then moved to Houston Texas. Keeping in line with his cultural upbringing, he combined his entrepreneurial passion with his love for music and pride in his Hawaiian heritage by opening up Aloha Joe's Grill and Heavenly Hula Grams. He moved back to Maui where he was a musician belonging to multiple bands showcasing his various styles of genre. He then landed his dream job as a Reconstruction Manager for Premier Restoration Hawaii. He had a zest for life and a hunger of continuous personal growth with the mindset of providing a better life for his loved ones. His enthusiastic nature will be missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului.Public viewing will be from 9:00am to 11:00am with services to begin at11:00am. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park in Wailuku at 2:00pm.
