Joyce Ann Little

Joyce was born May 13, 1924 in Wakefield, Michigan of 100% Finnish ancestry. Her parents are Ernest and Anna Carr. She married Charles Bertolino in 1946 and the had a daughter, Marlene. Her second marriage was to the love of life, Donald Little in 1978. They traveled the world together. They both loved God and were faithful Methodists, volunteering for decades together. Joyce became a nurse and becam a second mom to Joanna Plautz who was serverly burned as a child. Joyce volunteered for 40 years in nursing homes and Senior Centers. Joyce was a poet and in 2014 took second prize in a poetry contest winning $2,000 competing with poets all over the country in Reno, Nevada. After Don's death, she moved to Maui to live with Marlene and her husband Victor for over 16 years. In her final 102nd year she was cared for by Marlene and Victor, Ariel, and Christian, and the wonderful staff and volunteers from Hospice Maui. She went to her heavenly home on October 13, 2026.
