Julia Mae (Rea-Hovey-McCoy) Barnes, 87, of Hilo, died December 24, 2010, at Hilo Medical Center Extended Care Unit. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona and was a former Worthy Matron of Hilo Eastern Stars Chapter #1, and a member of the Hilo Elks Club. Private services were held. She is survived by her son Ronald W. (Vickie) Hovey of Minden, Nevada; daughter Sherry Arkangel of Keaau; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
