She is survived by daughters, Gail (Roy) Kinumatsu of Honolulu, Linda (Alterry) Murai of Kohala; brother, Gary Kato of the Philippines; sisters, Susan Kato of Honolulu, Eiko Kaohu of Kohala, Sally Kato of Kohala, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Viewing will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary, Hilo, on April 9, 2024 beginning at 10 am. A Memorial Service will be held on April 13, 2024 at Kohala Jodo Mission Church, 54-541 Kapaau Rd, Kapaau, Visitation: 10 am, Service: 11 am.
June was preceded in death by her husband, George Shoji Tanouye.
