Karl “Kully” “Pops” Y. Takushi, 69, of Kahului, entered eternal rest on June 4, 2015 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on May 31, 1946 in Paia, Maui. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Christ the King Church, Mass over urn will begin at 11 a.m.
Karl was the owner of Takushi’s A & K Auto Repair Shop and a lifetime member of the Valley Isle Timing Association and Drag Racing was his passion.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Takushi; sons, Alvin (Sherilynn) Takushi, and Kyle (Alyssa) Takushi, and predeceased by son, Samuel Ellis, III. He is also survived by daughter, Cheryl (Patrick-deceased) Gower; brothers, Stanley (Mary) Takushi, James Nakamoto, Richard (Naomi) Nemoto, sister, Jane (Shigenobu) Inouye; grandchildren, Nicholas, Stacie, Jenna, Austin, Kahiau Rose, Austin Rodrigues, and numerous hanai children and grandchildren.
