Kazue Yamashiro

Kazue “Stella” Yamashiro, 82, of Hilo, passed away on Saturday April 12, 2014 at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Honaunau. She was a Homemaker, and belonged to the University Heights Kumiai, was a former member of the Hilo Uta No Kai karaoke club, and a singer for the former Hilo Youth Band. Memorial services will be held at the Higashi Hongwanji Church, Sunday April 27, 2014. Visitation at 3:30, service at 5:00 pm; reception to follow. She is survived by her spouse Toshio Yamashiro of Hilo; daughters Velma (Stephen) Menezes of Hilo, Jo Ann (Douglas) Agasa of Hilo, Merle (David) Yee of Hilo, and Dr. Carla Yamashiro of Washington; brothers Katsuyoshi “Kadon” Fukushima of Captain Cook, Koichi (Joan) Fukushima of Captain Cook, John (Betty) Fukushima of North Carolina, and Masaichi Fukushima of Captain Cook; sisters Matsuno “Lily” Katz of Las Vegas, and Sanae (Sueto) Matsumura of Kealakekua; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
