Keith F. Maeda

Born on November 28, 1954, to Richard and Doris Maeda, Keith was raised in Puʻunēnē, Maui, and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1973. After graduation, he began his career in the construction industry, where his strong work ethic, dedication, and craftsmanship earned him the respect of many. Through years of hard work and determination, he fulfilled his dream of owning and operating KFM.

Keith was a hardworking man who took great pride in everything he did. When he dedicated himself to a task, he gave it his all. He was well known throughout the community for his work in construction, and people respected him because they knew that when Keith took on a job, it would be done right. To many, he was simply known as a proud Puʻunēnē boy who never forgot where he came from and carried the values of hard work, dedication, and loyalty throughout his life.

Outside of work, Keith enjoyed fishing and hunting. Whether he was out on his boat or casting a line around Maui, being outdoors brought him peace. Some of his favorite memories were made spending time with family and friends doing what he loved most.

Above all, Keith was an outstanding grandfather and a devoted family man. His 13 grandchildren were the light of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them. Although he wasn’t always one to express his love with words, he showed it every day through his actions, his sacrifices, and the unwavering support he gave to those he loved. He could be stubborn at times, but those who knew him best knew that behind his tough exterior was a caring and generous man with a heart full of love for his family.

Keith leaves behind his loving wife, Charla; his children, Natalie (Rusty), Matthew, Charisse (Leslie), and Aaron (Ciera); his 13 beloved grandchildren; his siblings, Gail (Stanley), Leslie, Lance (Lauren), Heidi (Jr.), and June; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever miss him.

Our family will forever cherish the memories we shared, the stories we’ll continue to tell, and the love Keith showed every day. Though he is no longer with us, he will always be in our hearts. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Ballard Family Mortuary. Public visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery.
