Kristi Jane Tanodra, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend to many passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025 at her home in Haiku, Hawai’i at the age of 69. She was born on July 31, 1955 in Seattle, WA to the parents of Clifford and Edna Sandine and is survived by her sister Nancy Lamb, husband John Tanodra and children Aaron(47), Audrey(44) and Anna(39) and grandson Kawika(18).
Scandinavian by descent, Kristi was raised with her sister in Poulsbo ‘Little Norway’ Washington in a home built by her parents on Dogfish Bay. In her youth, a family trip to Europe shaped Kristi’s worldview and inspired a lifelong interest in connecting human culture, art and environment; informing her career as a travel agent later in life.
In 1975, Kristi married John Dave Tanodra, of Lana’i Hawai’i, and together raised three children on Dogfish Bay before moving to the Kingdom of Hawai’i in 2013. A devout Christian, loving wife and mother, Kristi was a beacon of light and positivity to all that knew her.
Kristi’s ever radiant smile was a testament to the sincere joy and faith she lived by. Her natural curiosity, authentic presence and pure heartedness will forever live within our hearts as qualities to embody in memory of her precious spirit.
