Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Christ the King Church, Mass will begin at 11 a.m., inurnment 2 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park - Maui View Garden. Family request to limit flowers to lei only.
Laureen was a clerk at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Kahului.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey E. Tavares; son, David Tavares; sisters, Brenda (Roger) Duquette, Yolanda (Clayton) Campbell, Jeanne (Stanley) Huihui, Pauline Mena; brother, Bruce (Kalei) Tong Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Laureen is predeceased by her parents, Bruce and Via-Hart Tong; and sister Sylvia (Herbert) Leong.
The family would like to acknowledge Hospice Maui for their compassionate care of Laureen.
