

Lily Catalina Filomino, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on January 23, 1941, in Lana’I, Hawaii. Lily’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering devotion to family.
Lily was the cherished daughter of the late Emma Kauhi and Ciraco Filomino. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Natalie Santiago, and treasured grandchildren Keo Kaauwai and Brandon Santiago.
Lily’s legacy lives on through her large and loving family. She is survived by her seven children: Julieann Mock Chew (Randolph), Theresa Starn (Steve), Lola Caluag (Ron), Laurie Redondo (Frank), Domingo Caluag (Kamlyn), Mayln Santiago, and Manuel Santiago. Her nurturing spirit and wisdom will continue to guide her 27 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 7 great, great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Lily’s home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her favorite island dishes. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially picking limu, opihi, and pipipi along the Hawaiian shorelines. These cherished pastimes connected her to her heritage and brought her peace and happiness throughout her life.
She was a pillar of strength and compassion, offering guidance and unconditional love to all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and family unity will be cherished for generations.
A celebration of Lily’s remarkable life will be held at the Ballard Family Mortuary on November 30, 2025, at 3:00PM, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and the profound impact she made on so many lives.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
