

Lydia is predeceased by her husband, Soen Liang Kwee. She is survived by children John (Lisa) Kwee, Nathan (Jasmine) Kwee, Sam (Lori) Kwee, Rosy (Darin) Olaso; grandchildren Joshua (Sarah) Araki-Kwee, Justin Araki-Kwee, Kimi (Barry) Mentz, Krystal (Matthew) Kwee-Zambrano, Devan Kwee, Mitchell (Zaneta) Kwee, Sari Kwee, Mari Kwee, Destin Olaso, Danae Olaso, Daniel Olaso; great-grandchildren Lana, Vance, Nicholas, Lexi, Matthew, Brixton, and Oliver. Surviving siblings Seng Nio Tan, Nelly Jahja, Yat Lee Tan, Yat Beng Tan and Jenny Sie.
Immigrating to Maui in 1969 from Indonesia, Lydia used her baking skills to create with her son Nathan, CookKwee’s Maui Cookies, which was later sold. Then creating delicious baked goods at Paradise Delite (Dave’s Ice Cream). She showed her artistic side by making jewelry with her daughter Rosy for craft fairs, Chinese New Year, etc. During her retirement years, Lydia enjoyed dancing with her husband, country line dancing, ballroom dancing, and the couple also loved traveling the world. She attended Valley Isle Fellowship Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului on May 10, 2024. Visitation starting at 9:00 am, Memorial Service at 10:00 am. Family requests no flowers.
