Lynn Henani Kaluhikaua, 64, born November 24th 1960, and called home to the Lord on January 21st 2025. Lynn was born in Hilo, and raised in Keaukaha. Lynn graduated from Hilo High and played volleyball where multiple B.I.I.F. championships were won. She had a special place in her heart for good music, good food, ohana, and people. She was previously employed at the Keaukaha General Store where her infectious laugh and smile was shared with everyone. She was married to Richard “Pepe” Mata who was also called home to the lord on January 10th 2025. She is survived by her two sons, Kupono and Kahiau Mata. Two grandchildren Jhayden and Aubree Mata, and siblings Lucille Vesperas, Solomon Kaluhikaua Jr., Dennis Michaels, and Ellenmerle Weber. A celebration of life will be held at the Ballard Family Mortuary in Hilo on February 28th 2025, between 9:00am and 12:30pm, followed by the burial at Homelani Memorial Park.
