She was 94 years old.
Cookie was born on July 31, 1932 in Paia Hospital. She graduated from St. Anthony Girls School in 1950. She worked at Libby Cannery, Paia Plantation Store, Wailuku Hale Makua and Maui Community College where she retired after 21 years.
She lived a vibrant and beautiful life filled with deep love for her family, faith and community.
Cookie was born to Antone and Margaret Poopaa Souza (deceased). Her siblings include; Cora (Benji-deceased) Rollins, Anthony "Chono" (Dale) Souza (deceased) and Joe "Bully" (Naomi) Souza.
She was married to Harry Sombelon Sr. (deceased).
Together they raised five children; Marie (Robert) Gaskin, Harry Jr. (Mokihana), Beverly (Greg) Boteilho, Roy Sombelon Sr.(deceased) and Ivan (Dawn) Sombelon. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She will forever be cherished and missed by her family, extended relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 954 Baldwin Ave, Paia, HI 96779, US, on November 14, 2026 beginning at 9:00am
A Committal Service will be held at Maui Memorial Park, 450 Waiale Rd, Wailuku, HI 96793, US, on November 14, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
