Mark Andrew Elf

On this Thanksgiving Day, our family is very thankful for we now have a BIG angel shining down on us. Not only did he stand six feet and six inches tall, Mark Elf was big in every way. He had a big, larger-than-life personality, a big, loud, infectious laugh, and most of all a big heart. He was the most loving grandpa, dad, husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved his family and friends dearly and would do absolutely anything for them. He would say his grandkids, Kamauaola and La'akea, were "the meaning of life". He shared his happiness and positivity everywhere he went and with everyone he met. He made a connection with people, often granting them affectionate nicknames. He made such a positive impact in this world that his job on earth was complete. Our family truly believes that he will continue his work in a greater magnitude from heaven. We love you Dad and Grandpa. Fly with angels.

Mark Andrew Elf, 54, of Kihei, passed away on November 18, 2014 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on July 4, 1960 in Seattle, King County, Washington. His Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014, 4:30pm-9:30pm at Kihei Community Center. Program will start at 5:30pm. Shuttle bus services by Akina Aloha Tours, will provide transportation from St. Theresa Church parking lot to Kihei Community Center from 4:30pm-9:00pm once Kihei Community Center parking lot is full. Since his passion in life was fishing, his ashes will be privately scattered behind Molokini on his favorite "ono run" at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Leila Elf; son, Keoni Elf; daughter, Sanoe Elf (Mika Pico); hanai son, Jordan Lawrence (Chelsea Calvert); grandsons, Kamauaola Pico and La'akea Pico; father, Roy Elf (Gwen Elf); brother, Michael Elf; sisters, Shari Elf and Shelley Hefner; mother-in-law, Iwalani Lawrence; sister-in-law, Donna Madrid (Aaron Madrid); brother-in-law, Sam Lawrence (Laurie Lawrence); hanai brothers, Kirk "Bully" Donaghy, Douglas "Dougie" Akina Jr. and Keith "Kalani" Hirata.
