
She was born in Winthrop, Arkansas on June 19, 1926 to the late Charles and Annie Moore. Her father worked in and managed sawmills which resulted in them moving several times following the work, in the area from Arkansas to Arizona.
She married Robert (Bob) Moyer on May 20, 1950, Bob was in the U. S Army for 27 years and they lived on various Army Posts throughout the United States and Germany. Bob retired from the military in 1963 and they decided to live in the Seattle area. In 1976 Mary went to visit her husband in Maui, Hawaii where he had a job helping a friend open a restaurant. Mary fell in love with Hawaii and they decided to move there permanently.
Mary had many jobs even though she did not work full time until her youngest son was in first grade. She was a town librarian, worked in the office for various companies. Once she moved to Maui she worked as an office manager and then as an operations manager for Maui's first bus company providing public service on the island. In later years she worked in retail selling premium Reyn's/Spooner Hawaiian shirts.
Mary really liked people and made long lasting friendships every where she went. She kept in touch with friends she had known for more than fifty years.
Mary was an active member of Grace Baptist Church. Members of the congregation went out of their way for her and made the later years of her life wonderful. She loved the people in the church and took part in many activities.
She is predeceased by husband Robert and son Timothy. She is survived by step daughter: Barbara Urban, of Ephrata, PA; sons: Terry of Seattle, WA; Steve (Diane) of Lahaina, HI; Kerry (Michi) of Honolulu, HI; Perry (Helen) of Beverly Hills, FL.. She has eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, July 21 at the Grace Baptist Church at 2:00 pm.
