Melvin Young

Melvin K. Young, Sr., 66, of Wailuku, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Maui Memorial Medical Center, Wailuku. Family and friends are invited to gather for funeral services on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Kahului Union Church. Visitation will begin from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the church from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park, Wailuku. Borthwick Norman's Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements. Melvin was born on January 12, 1946 in Hana, Maui. He worked as a maintenance worker for Kahului Union Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Melvin K. Young, Jr. and survived by his daughter, Leanne (Robert) Rivera, his sister, Kathleen "Lady" Kin Choy; his two brothers, Bernard (Stephanie) Young & Dale "Boy" Young; his three grandchildren, Caleb Rivera, Makana Rivera & Eleanna Rivera; his nephew, Arnold (Dawn) Alexander and AJ and Dayton Alexander.

Visitation: Visitation...Family 4:30PM Public 5:00-8:00PM on February 23, 2012 at Kahului Union Church and Family 8:30AM Public 9:00AM on February 24, 2012 at Kahului Union Church. Service...10:30AM on February 24, 2012 at Kahului Union Church. Burial...12:30PM on February 24, 2012 at Maui Memorial Park.
