Michael Takeo Hayashi, 58, passed away January 29, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 3, 1956 in Honolulu, HI; graduated from James B. Castle High School, and moved to Maui in 1985, where he served with the Maui Fire Dept for 25 years. He retired in 2011 and moved to Las Vegas to join his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Hayashi, and is survived by his mother Ruth Hayashi; sisters Michele Barnes, Lynelle Loomis and husband Roger, all of Las Vegas, NV; sister Wanda Smith of San Jose, CA; nephew Peter Barnes and grandniece Cameron Barnes of San Antonio, TX; nephew Ryan Uyehara, wife Babylyn, and grandnieces Kaila, Karyn, and Kara, of San Jose, CA; and nephew Joshua Smith of San Francisco, CA; as well as many extended family members in Honolulu.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary, 440 Ala Makani St., Kahului, HI 96732, on February 28, 2015 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
