Morton was born on February 19, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Drexel University with a BS in mechanical engineering and a MS in aeronautical engineering. He also graduated from the University of Georgia with a PhD in Business Management.
He was a Professor in the Business School at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He served in many capacities in academics and received numerous distinguished awards.
He was also a veteran of the Army.
Morton was an adventurer and thoroughly enjoyed travelling worldwide.
Morton is predeceased by his spouse Gayle Cotlar; parents, Joseph and Henrietta Cotlar; brother, Charles Cotlar.
He is survived by his partner, Jane Loeffler; daughter, Geri Schrader (Ron); son, Gary Cotlar; 4 grandchildren, Justin (Jasmine), Jared (Erin), Jessica, Lauren; 3 great grandchildren, Avery, Colin, and Auden.
