“Kealoha” passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, in Wailuku, Maui, at the age of 57. Myles leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering loyalty, touching the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
Born on Saturday, August 12, 1967, in Wailuku, Maui, Myles was the beloved son of Samuel and Geraldine Kaʻeo. From an early age, Myles embodied the values of aloha, sharing his kindness, humor, and compassion freely with friends and family alike. He graduated from Baldwin High School with pride and soon embarked on a career that reflected both his industrious spirit and immense talents.
Myles dedicated many years as a ramp agent for Aloha Island Air where his work ethic and easygoing nature left a lasting impact on colleagues and travelers. However, his heart truly soared in the world of Polynesian dance and music. Myles graced the stages of the Royal Lahaina Luau, Tihati Productions Ltd, both Oahu and Maui, The Old Lahaina Luau, and the Feast of Lele—not only as a dancer but also as a skilled Polynesian drummer at the latter two Luau’s. His love for the performing arts extended into the community, where he cherished his time dancing hula with Halau Hula Kauluokala, under the guidance of Kumu Uluwehi Guerrero.
Devoted to his Maui roots, Myles also worked for the County of Maui, serving in both the Highway and Parks and Recreation divisions. His keen sense of duty and helpfulness made him a cherished colleague and friend wherever he went.
In December 2002, Myles married the love of his life, Jamie Lum Lung. Their partnership was filled with laughter, affection, and adventures—traveling together to continental America, as well as Japan, England, Wales, France, and even the Kiribati Islands, sharing their passion for Polynesian dance. The following year, their greatest joy arrived with the birth of their daughter, Piʻilaniwahine, who became Myles’ pride and delight. Whether cheering for his beloved Raiders, strumming his guitar, perfecting Tahitian drumming, or simply spending time with his family, Myles embodied love in action.
Those closest to Myles remember him as the sweetest of souls—genuine, caring, and always ready to help. His loyalty was unmatched; he was the friend and brother everyone could count on, and his special bond with his family remained steadfast throughout his life. Myles’ infectious humor, warmth, and steady presence will forever be missed.
