
Pedro Balderama Tuquero, Sr., 99, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on March 2, 2017, at his home, under the care of his son, Pedro Tuquero, Jr. and family. He was born on February 23, 1918, in Tayum Abra, Philippines.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Christ the King Catholic Church Kahului; prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Christ the King Catholic Church; mass will begin at 9:30 a.m.; burial will follow, 11:00 a.m., at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao.
Pedro was a retired Radio Operator in the Philippines Army and a decorated World War II combat veteran. He later worked and retired as a Houseman for Royal Lahaina Hotel. He was predeceased by his wife, Dominga Marinas Tuquero, brothers, Jose (Felipa) Tuquero, Feliciano (Felicidad) Tuquero, Loreto Tuquero; and sister, Filomena (Resurrection) Talledo. He is survived by his brothers, Steven (Victoria) Tuquero, Ricardo (Maria) Tuquero; sons, Bailon (Rosafe Ramos) Tuquero, Pedro (Elsenia Lapez) Tuquero, Jr., Ernesto (Valentina Ramos) Tuquero, Gil (Michelle Miyake) Tuquero, John (Debra Cabanilla) Tuquero; daughters, Juanita (Enrique Sr.) Paa, Marina (Henry) Cortez, Alicia (Miguel Jr.) Aguinaldo, Margarita (Constante) Garcia; adopted daughters, Maritess Tuquero, Romely (Arnold) Lagat, Jocelyn (John Sr.) Kanohokula; sister-in-law, Cristina Tejero Tuquero; 34 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
