August 6, 1977 - July 11, 2025
Ray Tacdol Mamuad, 47, of Pona Way, Kahului, passed away on July 11, 2025, at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Ray was born on August 6, 1977, in Wailuku, Maui. He was a proud graduate of H.P. Baldwin High School, Class of 1995.
Ray began his career at Alamo Rent A Car in 1996, where he worked for 23 years. In April 2007, Ray became an electrician at HC&S and continued through the ‘Last Harvest.’ After the closing of HC&S, Ray pivoted to hospitality and began working as an engineer at Montage in Kapalua. He loved his time at Montage, where his team became his extended family.
Ray's kindness and work ethic made a lasting impression at every place he worked. He was a great mentor, coworker, and friend.
In his free time, Ray enjoyed fishing, bodyboarding, and relaxing by the ocean. He loved to hang out with friends—many of whom he worked with—to “talk story” and have a cold beer. If you had the honor of tasting his famous miso pork, you'd agree it was the best.
Ray, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, will be deeply missed by his parents, Ricardo and Victorina Mamuad Sr.; his siblings, Marilyn (Kapono) Stupplebeen, Helen Mamuad, and Ricky (Kuʻulei) Mamuad Jr.; and his eight nieces and nephews: Justice Patao, Victoria and Savannah Osborn, Sofia, Isaiah, and Sara Stupplebeen, and Taylor and Tysen Arashiro-Mamuad.
To celebrate Ray's life and the profound impact he had on all of us, we will gather at Christ the King Church in Kahului. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, with a Eulogy and Prayer Service starting at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Christ the King, with the Eulogy and Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Maui Views Mausoleum, located at Maui Memorial Park on Waiʻinu Road, Wailuku.
