family at age 60. Richard’s humility, selflessness, and loving nature were an inspiration to all. He was a long
time employee of Anheuser Busch and a life long waterman who competed in several events throughout his life, including the Molokai to Oahu paddleboard race.
Richard is survived by his grandchildren - Kaiea, Taj, and
Aiyana - who will remember him for his playful spirit.
His children - Kevin and Amber - will remember the
sacrifices that he made for his family and are grateful for
instilling in them a life long love of the ocean. He will be
missed most by his wife of 32 years, Margy, who will
miss her best friend.
Friends and family will be gathering in his honor at
Ballard Family Mortuary on Sunday, December 7th, from
9 AM-12 PM, with memorial servie at 10:30 AM. A
paddle out to scatter him at sea will follow at “Big Lefts”,
on Ukali Street, in Paukukalo at 2 PM.
