Richard "Dick" Porter, 77, of Kihei, passed away on December 24, 2011 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1934 in Boston Massachusetts. Dick graduated from Point Loma High School in 1952 and from Occidental College in 1956. He was a retired Lt. Commander in the USNR. He worked in aerospace until 1980 when he opened California Convertible Company in San Marcos, California. He retired to Kihei, Maui in 2003. Dick was a member of Wailuku Union Church, a food pantry volunteer, main church archivist, and chairperson of the Board of Trustees. He also volunteered with "Neighbors Helping Neighbors". He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Porter; son, David (Micahn) Macleod; grandson, David; sister, Penny Porter; and very dear friend, Dee Dee Ramage Porter. Donations may be made to the Wailuku Union Church for their food pantry.
Services: Visitation will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Wailuku Union Church, memorial service will start at 5 p.m.
