Richard Wilfred Santos, 90, of Hilo died on June 11, 2018 at Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home. Born in Hilo on March 16, 1928, he was a retired police Captain for the Hawaii County Police Department, former CEO of ARC of Hilo, Commodore Coast Guard Auxiliary 14 District, Hilo Masonic Lodge 33rd degree, Waiakea Lions, Boy Scout Master for Troop 78. World War II veteran with the US Army Air Corp/US Air Force.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lilo; sons, Rainer and Richard H. Santos; brother-in-law, Rainer (Rose) Bender; and three grandchildren, Michael, Eric & Sammie (Rocket) Roque.
