Robert Cookman

Robert Lawrence Cookman, 62, of Kamuela, passed away on Monday May 11, 2015 at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was born in Honolulu and was a stevedore with McCabe, Hamilton & Renny, and Matson Navgation. A U.S. Army and U.S. Army National Guard Veteran. Celebration of life will be held at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary Saturday May 30, 2015, visitation at 9:30 am, service at 11:00 am. Scattering of his ashes will be on the Big Island on Saturday June 6, 2015 at Kawaihae (LST) at 9:00 am. Celebration of life will be held at Imiola Church (Hale Laiana) at 11:00 am. Leis and loose flowers are welcome. Casual attire. He is survived by his spouse Alita-Ray Cookman of Kamuela; father Frances Earl Smith of Hilo; sons No’eau (Eri) Cookman of Kamuela, O’liko (Jolyn) Cookman of Kohala, Kamahoi (Lacy) Cookman of Honoka’a; brother Taylor (Jessie) Smith of Hilo; sisters Laurie (Lei) Smith of Hilo, Joanna (Rob) Ululani Smith of Keaau; Brother in law Brandon Shin of Kona;12 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
