Robert K Malaiakini passed away peacefully at Hospice Maui Hale on Saturday September 25, 2021, he was 69 years old. A Celebration of Life is being planned for 3:00 pm Saturday November 27, 2021 at Robert’s home in Hāna.
Robert was a Vietnam Veteran who earned a Bronze Service Star. He retired from the County of Maui Hāna Public Works as a supervisor. Robert was a lifelong fisherman, his passion was deep sea fishing. He enjoyed and excelled in many sports including paddling and coaching for the Hāna Canoe Club.
Robert is predeceased by his parents Sarah and Joseph Malaiakini, siblings; Violet (George) Lancaster, Diane (David) Aiana, Harry (Irene) Malaikini, Eleanor (William) Kamai, Raymond Malaikini, Viewed “Tiny” Malaikini, Mabel Bergau and his twin brother Ralph Malaiakini. Robert is is survived by his wife Patricia, grandsons Maua and Makoa Malaiakini, sister Armine (Randy) Medeiros, sister-in-law Lynette Malaikini along with numerous nieces and nephews and grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Robert cherished and was cherished by his family and his many friends.
