

Bob was born and raised on the Big Island and graduated from Honokaa High School.
He proudly served his country after enlisting in the United States Army and was later interred with Military Honors in recognition of his faithful service.
Following his military service, Bob earned his degree from California State University and Dedicated his life to education. He began his teaching career with Los Angeles Unified School District where he taught for 9 years. He later returned to Hawaii and made Maui his Home for the remainder of his life.
Bob spent 26 years teaching at Lahainaluna High School, which he often considered the best years of his career.
He was also a life member of Epsilon Pi Tau - International Honor Society for Industrial Technical Educators. Supervisor of teacher interns at Los Angeles Unified School District.
Bob and his wife Betty shared a love of travel and were fortunate to explore much of the world together. Among their most memorable adventures were visits to Egypt, Japan and China. He also cherished the many years he spent pheasant hunting with his father at Parker Ranch, creating treasured memories close to his heart throughout his life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff at Hospice Maui for the exceptional kindness, comfort and support they provided during Bob's final Days.
Bob is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 68 years Betty Sakado: his son Todd (Lilia) Sakado: his daughter Dayna Sakado and his granddaughters Taylor and Tiana. Bob was Preceded in death by his son Ryan Sakado.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
