

Rosapel Santos, 85, of Wailuku, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Born on November 3, 1940, in the Federated States of Micronesia, Rosapel lived a life defined by faith, resilience, humility, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Throughout her life, Rosapel was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and selfless nature. She carried herself with quiet strength and wisdom, offering guidance, comfort, and encouragement to family and friends alike. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she always placed the needs of others before her own. Whether through a caring word, a helping hand, or a simple act of kindness, she touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Rosapel's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising and nurturing her children, instilling in them the values of love, respect, perseverance, and compassion. Her enduring care and guiding presence shaped the lives of her children, listed from oldest to youngest: Alfonso, Sihdus, Roenio, Erleen, Relio, Kensi, Lereen, Marinda, Berney, Erny, Raegen, Kasio Redes, Jayceleen Redes, and Bailey Redes.
As a mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Rosapel created a legacy built on love and sacrifice. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family gatherings were filled with laughter, stories, and cherished memories. The lessons she taught through her actions—giving generously, loving unconditionally, and remaining steadfast through life's challenges—will continue to inspire future generations.
Though her passing leaves a profound void, her family finds comfort in the countless memories they shared and in the enduring example she set throughout her life. Rosapel will be remembered with deep love, gratitude, and respect, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A Funeral Service will be held on June 19, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ballard Family Mortuary-Kahului, 440 Ala Makani Street, Kahului, Hawaii 96732.
