Ruth Marie Bento, 94 of Hilo, Hawai’i passed away on November 27, 2023 in Hilo, Hawai’i. She was the wife of the late Walter C. Bento, former treasurer of the County of Hawaii. Ruth was a retired pre-school teacher of the former Co-op Nursery School and life-long member of Central Christian Church.
She is survived by daughter Gloriamarie Toni (Charles) Hoffman of Kailua Kona, Hawai’i; sons Walter C. Bento Jr. of Hilo, Hawai’i; Nathan B. Bento of Modesto, California; and nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by sisters Dorothy (James) Wise; Edith (Walter) Perreira; brother Francis (Gladys) Borges.
