

Samson Quintos, 81, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2025 surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice Maui. He was born on May 4, l944 in Honolulu. Adopted by Roberto and Alvina Quintos, who were originally from the Philippines, they moved to Maui.
Sam attended Baldwin High School and Maui Technical School. He worked at Volkswagen Maui and then joined the County of Maui Parks Department in 1975. He retired in 2005 after 30 years of service.
Sam did not journey to the mainland U.S. until he was 40 years old, but that first trip sparked a lifelong love for travel in both him and his family. Road trips throughout the western and eastern parts of the U.S. and Canada became frequent and fun-filled adventures. Sam also enjoyed cruises and went to destinations such as the Caribbean, Alaska, Puerto Rico and the Panama Canal, China, Japan and South Korea, Scandinavia and Russia, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Joanne. Children: Darlene (Michael) Cairns; Danette (Rusty) Silva; Debbie (David) Silva; son-in-law Rick Racadio; 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Roberto and Alvina Quintos; daughter Sammy Racadio and son Jason Quintos.
Visitation over urn will be on August 2, 2025 at 9 am, St. Joseph Church, Makawao. Eulogy at 10:30 am then Mass to follow at 11 am. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A very special thank you to the Hospice Maui ohana for their compassionate and loving care, especially Janell, Sabrina, Nalani, Gloria and Dan. Thank you also to Nursing Care Hawaii, especially Ku’uipo, who helped care for him for 3 years. Another special thank you to Lori who was a godsend in the last 10 months.
