
after a year long battle with Leukemia, a terrible disease that he
fought bravely and with incredible strength.
Steve was born in Seattle, Washington to Richard Jacobsen and Ellen
Walden, the only son and the last born of their five children.
Steve moved to Maui in 1986, following in the footsteps of his four
sisters. He quickly learned to surf and embraced the Maui lifestyle,
fishing, surfing and living life to the fullest. He enjoyed his career as a
waiter at Erik’s Seafood Grotto & Kimo’s Restaurant of Maui.
Steve was a beloved son, brother, uncle and left behind many
wonderful friends.
He is survived by his father, Richard Jacobsen, Snohomish,
Washington; mother, Ellen Walden, Leavenworth, Washington;
and sisters Kathy (Mark) Eglin, Duvall, Washington; Laurie (Dale)
Vincent, Wailuku, Maui, Patty (Andy) McNallen, Peshastin,
Washington; and Marti (Cameron) Nice, Kealia, Kauai, and numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life and memorial paddle out will be held at Pohaku
Park (S-Turns) Kahana, Maui on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at
10:00am with lunch to follow at the park.
