Steven Charles Moyer

Steven Charles Moyer, known to family and friends as Steve, passed away in Lahaina, Hawaii, after complications from cancer treatment. He was born on May 21, 1951, in Bernalillo, New Mexico, and lived a life marked by kindness, creativity, friendship, and steady devotion to the people and places he cared about.

Steve was the son of the late Robert Moyer and Mary Moyer. He was also preceded in death by his brother Timothy Moyer. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Morris; his grandson, Wesley Blessing; his brothers, Terry Moyer, Kerry Moyer, and Perry Moyer (Helen); and many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and gratitude. His family meant a great deal to him, and he remained a source of support, humor, and strength to those closest to him throughout his life.

Steve served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty, discipline, and commitment. After his military service, he built a long and respected career in hospitality and facilities management on Maui. He attended UH Maui College and went on to become Head of Maintenance and General Manager at several well-known Maui resorts, including The Whaler, Napili Kai Beach Resort, Kamaole Sands, Ka'anapali Shores, Royal Kahana, and Puamana. He worked for Spectrum before retiring. In each role, he earned the respect of coworkers and the appreciation of the many guests and residents whose experiences were made better by his leadership and care.

Steve was known for approaching his work with professionalism, practical wisdom, and a genuine desire to help others. He took pride in maintaining high standards and in being someone people could count on. His colleagues valued his calm presence, his creativity in solving problems, and his ability to bring people together. He left a lasting impression on the resort communities he served and on the many individuals who worked alongside him over the years.

In retirement, Steve enjoyed a life shaped by the interests that brought him joy and reflection. He was an avid reader who appreciated the quiet pleasure of a good book. He also enjoyed softball and carried with him a lifelong appreciation for the camaraderie and energy of the game. Travel was another of his great passions, and he found happiness in seeing the world and experiencing new places, cultures, and perspectives. These interests reflected his curious spirit and his appreciation for life’s simple and meaningful moments. He enjoyed volunteering for many events with the Lahaina Town Action Committee. Lahaina resident for 50 years.

Those who knew Steve will remember him as a kind, creative, and friendly man whose presence made others feel welcome. He had a warm personality and a thoughtful way of connecting with people. Whether through his work, his friendships, or his time with family, he brought steadiness and sincerity to every part of his life. He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but also for the way he treated others, with respect, generosity, and heart.

Steve’s life was one of service, dedication, and enduring love for his family and community. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the many lives he touched along the way. Though he is no longer physically present, the example he set and the kindness he shared will remain a lasting comfort to all who mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Ballard Family Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with services to follow at 10:00 a.m.
