

Isi is survived by parents Tanikeni and Ane Holani; brothers Sekona, Sione, Tevita Holani; sister Charlene (Kalena) ,Tupouseini Holani; Grand parents Paula and malia lopeti ; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Isi grew up grounded in Tongan culture, Tongan Being his first language Isi had to navigate whats it like to be second generation in Hawaii defeating so many odds. Despite all odds he was able to make a name for himself locally and nationally. Isi quickly became a Big fish in Hilo helping to take Hilo High School Football to legacy winning BIIF Championship Team 7 years running, capturing state gold and silver in track and field and passing this Baton over to his younger brother Sione Continues to build on this legacy, all The while maintained amazing grades. After graduation Isi decided to take the junior college route despite receiving D1 offers, and again beating all odds after 2 years of playing football in California he got a full-rideʻ offer from The University of Kansas. An offer that he could not resist. Isi always motivated everyone around him to keep ballin. He always encouraged others to find the opportunities to make their dreams come true, no matter what the circumstances. He believed there was no excuse not to try. Isi could be a man of few words at times, but his presence spoke volumes. His 6’ 3” stature was only second to the size of his heart that shined through his smile.Isi quickly learned The trade and would return home on school breaks and get right back on the field Setting stones With his father. His father did not make Many of Isiʻs games due to The work demand and cost of living in Hawaii For things of this nature Isi remained humbled and fueled to never give up. His mother Ane played a huge role in his ability to respect his faith, his culture, and to work hard without complaint. His mother also encouraged Him to remember where he came from and to remain grounded.
Isi loved the ocean and knew how to block a blitz, clean sea urchins, and sing Tongan hymns all day long. He was amazing with kids and his favorite one, Tupou Seini Manumatavai. The youngest Holani sibling. Isi has a knack for keeping the MOOD mellow and holds a very even keeled persona.
“Isi made the people around him better. Just being with him made you better. You learn from his mannerisms, his attitude, his desires, and his actions. He added to your confidence and beliefs and would provide the needs and wants of the people around him. He had a vison. He would talk of owning businesses. He never judged anyone. Kept in his lane. He understood people and would flow and adapt. He loved his family. He would keep a picture of a message from his dad in his locker. The picture was on an 8”X11” paper that was pinned right in the middle of his locker where every time he looked at his locker he would see it. He was loved by his family and took care of them. He was funny, honest, real, had a pleasing personality. He is a hammah! He is da Man!”
