Thomas Dale Ridenour, 77, of Kihei, Maui passed peacefully at home on February 6, 2025. He was born on March 16, 1947 in Rapid City, South Dakota. A Memorial will be held at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery pavilion on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 10:30am. Burial of his urn will follow. Thomas was a lifelong adventurer having loved surfing, rock climbing, skiing and sailing. He was a proud Veteran serving in the Korean DMZ as an Imjin Scout during the Vietnam War. He loved owning his dude ranch on the mainland and relished the time he spent volunteering at the Humpback Whale Sanctuary on Maui. Thomas was very proud to be recognized by Hands On Maui as one of the 2022 Volunteer Heroes for his work at the sanctuary. He is survived by his brother, Larry Ridenour (Judy); and his adopted family, Elnora Prokuski, Curtis Prokuski (Marsha), Michelle Thompson (Shawn), and Elnora’s grandchildren, Kyra and Jared Prokuski, Jakob, Jeffrey, and Tyler Thompson. He always cherished his many island friends, as well as many long time friends from the mainland.
